Russ Price - Writer

Russ Price is the creator and author of the Bananas Books and lives in  St Albans.  He writes his stories based on moments  shared with his family  and they grow from there.

“I have 2 children – Toby and Rose. We read books together every night and sometimes we make up our own.

The Bananas books are my way of capturing our ideas and sharing in a fun way. I am passionate about the benefit of reading and writing with children. The books are inspired by things we have done and things we’d like to do.  I have worked alongside the curriculum and they are written for families and focused on children ages 3-6”.

Katie Rudge - Illustrator

Katie is an experienced designer and illustrator based in the north of England.

Whilst studying for her BA (Hons) at Leeds Arts University, Katie learnt and experienced a wide range of disciplines concerning drawing, design and printing, which has led her to pursue a successful career with a prominent print company in her home county of Yorkshire. Her passion for creating innovative and exciting designs has continued beyond formal education, leading her to develop ideas that fit perfectly with illustrating children's books.

'I enjoy combining both traditional and digital methods of design to create unique illustrations that are bright, eye-catching and playful; perfect for the children's market.'

Our Goals

We understand the importance of reading with children at these early school years. The books are written with a consistent theme of anticipation, guessing and interaction. The illustrations are modern, fun and  expertly capture the adventures of this new character - Bananas. The first 2 are shown here.

Our hopes are simply that children will enjoy reading more as a result of these books. They have been written based on our experiences, then reviewed and evolved with the help of children and teachers.

During this period, when home learning has become part of family life, we would like to provide the first book “Bananas and his rainbow adventure” FREE to everyone as an e-book.
